The Seabed User & Developer Group represents the UK's key marine industries. We are an informal grouping whose participants have a common interest and commitment to sustainable development within the UK’s marine environment. Working with Government, its agencies and other stakeholders, such as environmental NGOs, we support the development of regulation and marine management that benefits both business and the environment.

The SUDG is heavily reliant on the contributions of its industry members. The day to day running of the SUDG is supported by Jennifer Godwin, Chief Executive Officer, and Peter Barham MBE, Chair.

Jennifer Godwin

Jen has supported the work of the SUDG since 2019, bringing expereince of working with developers to gain marine consents alongside working with governments on international marine environmental policy. Jen's vision for a future marine space that balances a diverse range of marine industries alongside a flourishing and resilient marine environment drives her to push forward the work of the SUDG.

Peter Barham MBE

Peter's career in ocean and coastal management spans over four decades. He is an outcome-focussed innovator, promoting different ways of working that help to build trust and consensus around often challenging issues by focussing on the importance of win-win outcomes.
